LONG BOATS (LONDON SCI-FI CHALLENGE 2012)

16th April 2012

This was our entry into the London Sci-Fi 48 Hour Challenge 2012. Project Longboats, a pharmaceutical company is not all it seems as a volunteer enrolls on their testing program.

A huge thanks to go out to everyone on the SketchWork team who worked extremely hard for the shooting and post production days - I'm very proud of you all and you should be very pleased with what we have accomplished in just 2 days.

The SketchWorkTV 48 Hour Challenge

ANOTHER 48 HOUR SCI-FI CHALLENGE WRAPPED

15th April 2012

A massive thanks to go out to all of Team: SketchWork who wrapped on our 2012 SCI-FI London 48 Hour Challenge last night at 1:30am. We went a little over schedule, but that was due to the fact we had enough heavy rain to sink the Titanic! Another odd title and premise, but I think we have done pretty well - only time will tell.

Our specification was "Long Boats" as the title. A I (heart) something badge being pinned on someone by someone else, we had to include the dialogue line "Shhhh, Listen. Can you hear it... A gentle thump thump...". This year we had an optional topic to include which was "New drug which makes sleep illegal - work eternal.".

Directed by - Justin Heasman

Cast
Man 1 - Jamie Hancock
Charles Bains - John Stoddern
Lady 1 - Emma Heasman

18th February 2012

Things are really hotting up here at SketchWork TV HQ since the new year settled in. Winning the award was a great start and prompted us to really push the boundaries out for our new shows (The Sketch Show, The Movie and News Show and The "How Did They Do That?" Show).

Look out for the new shows with the new studio and brand spanking new theme tune being integrated over the next week. To go with this the front page of the official SketchWork TV website will be getting a slight redesign - Woo hoo!!!

See you on the other side,

Justin

SWTV Wins Special Effects Award

SWTV WINS NATIONAL AWARD FOR SPECIAL EFFECTS

3rd January 2012

We are extremely proud to have been announced the winner of the Dempsey Filmblood Award for Special Effects over the Christmas Holidays. What a brilliant start to 2012 for us here at SketchWork TV.

"We are excited to announce, that the winners of the 2011 Special Effects Trophy, are Justin Heasman and Dean Nolan of Sketchwork TV.

Their fun, engaging stories, mixed with good humour and superb special effects, really entertain the viewer. However, it is their behind the scenes explanations of their movie making techniques, that set them apart, and make their contribution unique.

It is for these reasons that we award them our trophy and wish them continued success in the future."

"The Filmblood Special Effects Trophy is awarded in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of special effects by independent film makers working in the genres of science fiction or horror.

Innovation and creative thinking are critical to the success of any industry, none more so than film. It is our hope that by celebrating new talent in the visual arts, specifically the application of make up and special effects, the quality of independent and amateur film productions will continue to grow.

We are constantly searching and monitoring the media for new film making talent, and pride ourselves in providing an honest and independent assessment for any candidates chosen for our awards."
, Dale Dempsey.

The new SketchWork TV filmshow starts next week and our SketchWork TV short films are starting with a bang at the end of January with the followup to the ever popular Protector Series, "The Hero Trial". Expect some amazing visual effects with the bigger cast as Dean joins the super hero academy and comes under attack. So, 2012 is looking better than ever!

Thanks everyone for your continued support, Justin and Dean
